The 2011-2012 school year is here, which means yet another season for cheerleading, with a new Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleading coach. The girls are ready to cheer for their Bulldog Football players.
The girls began their practices in May. They had practice every Tuesday and Thursday morning before school at 6:15. When summer rolled in, the girls began to practice every morning at the same time. During the season, practices are everyday after school from 3:30 to 5:00. The competitive cheerleading team, which consist of both Junior Varsity and Varsity: Basketball, Football, and Wrestling, started practices August 31 at 5:45. The cheerleaders are preparing themselves for a UCA (Universal Cheerleading Association) competition this November.
After the previous cheerleading coach resigned for personal reasons a new head coach was found. Molly Miller, hair dresser at Hair with Flare, stepped up and took the position of Varsity head coach. The assistant coaches are Tiffany Jett, Junior Varsity coach, and Christina Lange, Wrestling coach.
The girls recently participated in a Little Girls Cheerleading Camp. The cheerleaders worked with grades K-2 in the morning and 3-6 in the afternoon. The little girls learned cheers, a dance, jumps, and chants. The Little Girls will be performing during the Friday September 2 home football game at halftime.
The girls are ready to cheer on their football, basketball, and wrestling athletes this year!
