The explosion struck the main headquarters of the Church of Christ in Nigeria during its early morning service, Plateau state spokesman Pam Ayuba said. The blast killed the bomber and a father and child near the explosion, while wounding others, Ayuba said.

According to Vanguard Nigerian News, Jos police said at least six people were killed, and the Red Cross reported that 50 were wounded.

Jos was the scene of the bombings on Christmas Eve 2010 that targeted Christians and killed more than 80 people. Boko Haram, the radical Islamist terror group that is linked to al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and has targeted both the government and Christians, and even the United Nations, claimed the Christmas Eve attack. The Darien High School boys hockey team concluded the regular season on Thursday with a 4-1 victory over North Haven.

The Blue Wave concluded the regular season with a 15-5 record, including an 11-1 mark in the FCIAC, and will have a bye in the first round of the tier one FCIAC playoffs that begin on Saturday.

The top-seeded Blue Wave will face the New Canaan-Wilton winner in the semifinals. No. 2 seed Ridgefield will take on the St. Joseph-Trinity Catholic winner.

Darien's Malcolm Kiplinger is the No. 10 seed in the 160-pound weight class in this weekend state Open wrestling championships in New Haven while John Forlino is seeded 13th at 170 pounds.

The competition is set for Friday and Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.

First- and second-round matches will be contested on Friday starting at 4 p.m. After they have been completed, the consolation bouts get under way around 8 p.m.

On Saturday, the quarterfinal and second-round consolation matches begin at 10:15 a.m. They will be followed by the consolation quarterfinals and championship semifinals as wrestling continues through the day.

The finals are set to be begin on Saturday at 6 p.m. with champions to be crowned in each weight class
