Fitness, Health and Beauty ? What Is Meditation?

Meditation does not have to be confused with breath control or concentration. It is also not a religious ritual. Frankly speaking, meditation helps many people to become mentally stronger as well as to develop their spiritual side.

You have to know that meditation is all about doing practically nothing, but not about doing something as a lot of people think. It other words, it is about just being in a state of a complete awareness and this is a stage where you become unaware of anything that happens in your mind. Of course, this does not come easily, but with some practice it is possible.

Our mind is always with various thoughts - some of them are pleasant while others are not. In fact, thoughts are what determines how relaxed we could appear or how stressful we have become. If when meditating you focus on a thought, you are adding to the stress that you are actually trying to get rid of. Focusing on wrong things will drain your mental resource. Especially this is true when you meditate after a tiring day. Whatever the carrier could be, sometimes it is important to lose that carrier. Keep in mind that the more you try to focus on particular thing or thought, the more challenging it is to reach anything in the exercise.

At the conscious level of mind thought enter and leave as its leisure. And the same happens during the early stages of meditation. When the eyes are closed it is normal that one see various colors. And with practice colors and thoughts would gradually reduce and entry into the meditative trans would become faster. And finally it reaches a stage where there will be no thought in the mind, the colors disappear as well as the eyes become more relaxed.

This is where one moment of total calm seems to be an age. This is the state of emptiness whether a person has no idea of their surroundings and becomes detached from everything that exists. This is a state of total awareness.
