The list of underclassmen declaring for this year?s NFL Draft continues to grow ? and grow.
Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict announced that he was going to forgo his senior season and throw his name into the NFL Draft.
?After thoughtful and in-depth discussions with my family, I have decided to skip my final year of eligibility at Arizona State University and make myself eligible for the 2012 NFL Draft. I would like to thank every one of my coaches and professors at ASU. I plan to return to ASU and get my degree and I will always support the university and its football program. I cherish the memories and great times I had as a student-athlete at ASU and I hope to make the university proud of my future accomplishments on and off the field,? Burfict said in a statement on the school?s website.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pounder was the team?s second-leading tackler (69) with an interception and a fumble recovery. He finishes his career with 228 total tackles.
Meanwhile San Diego State running back Ronnie Hillman also announced his intention to leave school early for the NFL.
Hillman just finished his sophomore season with the school, where he rushed for 1,711 yards and 19 touchdowns. In his two seasons, he?s rushed for a combined 3,243 yards and 36 touchdowns.
Underclassmen have until Jan. 15 to declare their intentions for the NFL Draft.
